Palin is the worst choice for VP any presidential nominee could ever make. Inexperienced, not smart, petty, and lack character and judgement required for top job of the country, a likely event given McCain's age.

Hillary Clinton must be super offended by Americans thinking that Sarah Palin is the antidote to her not being selected as the potential Vice-President. Hillary has lots of experience and is smart. I hope the American public see sense by the time the election occurs.

I think McCain chose her for this reason: When the Arctic polar ice completely melts because of global warming the fight will be on for the newly accessible oil in that region. Some say it could contain twice as much oil as Saudi Arabia. The evidence for this plan is already well documented and the usual oil companies are as involved as they were/are in Iraq. Alaska may seem a fairly tucked-away sleepy state of the USA right now, but in the future its strategic location will make it far more important and it will become a huge security base for the US arsenal. America's biggest rival in the region is good old Russia(CIS)and Palin has already suggested that a Jihad for righteous Christian reasons with Russia would be just fine. Having a Vice President from Alaska makes a lot of sense from the continuing neo-con '50 years of war' philosophical view that is still the force behind the Republican Party, (as it was with George Bush). The fact that she is female is deliberate vote buying, but really an ostensible reason for McCain's choice. Another superficial reason is that we also hear the crazy Christian rhetoric, fundamentalism and creationist views that woo the ignorant God fearing masses in the States towards war every time.

Here is a woman who claims that Christian righteousness is all that is required to give good reason to attack Russia and any other country the US may see fit. So what is the difference between that and Jihad?

I almost feel sorry for American voters (all 15% of the the population… 20%? 25%, tops!). No matter who they vote for they always get a heat-seeking Republicrat! And yep, I’ll bet a yen to a shekel that the John McPain/Sarah Stalin ticket gets the “majority” nod. And I guess if a reckless dolt like Bush can be President, well, why not these two nutters! And they call this farcical system a beacon of democracy!

All Sarah Palin does is talk about her religion and her favorite lipstick. She said that by 'praying' to God in her church she will be able to turn homosesexuals and lesbians into heterosexuals. That sounds similiar to the 'brain operations' that the SS Nazis did to homosexuals and lesbians to turn them into heterosexuals during the 2nd world war. I heard that religion does not mix with politics but Sara Palin wants others to join her religion. Do not be surprised if she is going to say to other countries that if they want to buy weapons from the USA they will have to pray on her church.

You're right Jane, Biden is not a poor choice, although in his own words, he is the second choice. It seems even he knows, for the Democrats, he was the wrong choice.

Isn't this just another example of how the media gives extensive covers to those that are are "interesting" i.e. Obama and Palin. Those who have actual credentials, though less TV friendly i.e McCain and Biden, get dropped from the media spotlight and then the general public start to think that they are the wrong choice. Just because Palin is more "interesting" than Biden doesn't mean that all of a sudden Biden is a poor choice.
