As a politican he seeks to be all things to all men. As a lawyer he cannot help displaying his airs of superior arrogance. As a merchant banker his greed clouds his better instincts. He is in good company in his present position as Liberal leader. Other than that he is not a bad bloke.

Malcolm will need to change strategy to that of their idelogical soulmates in the US. i.e. Republican issues of GOD - GAYS - GUNS. A shindig or two at 'Hillsong' would also help, aka PETER and Kevin.

Pomposity and money do not a leader make. These are the reasons the financial system collapsed. Why does the liberal party always need a Messiah? Then chose a dud?Why does the media only report the opposition gossip and sniping, instead of what's actually happening in the real world? I'd like some news and some facts. Please?

Malcolm Turnbull is a Politican, Lawyer and Merchant Banker... The type of person responsible for the current sub-prime financial crisis. Only The village idiot would trust such credentials to LEAD anywhere worthwhile.

We can already see what Malcolm Turnbull stands for as his criticism of Rudd's visit to the US to attend the United Nation's General Assembly is so typical of what the Liberal Party stands for these days. Rudd will attend meetings to discuss what can be done to tackle poverty in the world's poorest nations and also what can be done for world climate change. Of course for modern Liberals who only care about their rich buddies, their own obscene wealth, and promotion of the selfishness doctrine, consideration of poverty stricken countries and their peoples is not part of their arrogant agenda. Why should they bother when they are really about supporting the greedy elite classes and robbing from the poor? Tim Costello must be commended for throwing light of this issue and backing the Rudd's view that the world's poorest are just as important as the rich. We are all human.

Turnbull will be PM. Gillard will have the rolling pin out for Krudd soon. Labour is already crumbling.I see SBS does not give much opportunity to comment on Rudd as opposed to their continual harrassment of the great John Howard and Peter Costello.Lefty media bias will try to ruin Australia.

Mr Turnbull’s offer to avoid exchanging negative political cheapshots with Government ministers would have, had it lasted been a welcome and refreshing relief from the vacuous antics of his predecessor. Of course Turnbull’s offer to "sit down with Government" and solve economic problems, is ludicrous and precisely what Australians comprehensively voted his party to stay out of at the last federal election, for the good of the national interest. The issue for Australia is the same now as it was prior to the election :How to better manage Australia’s Natural Prosperity and reclaim Social Fair Dinkum. To dumb us all down again wont happen ever again, with or without designer lipstik.oy oy oy~

Yes he can, Malcolm is a selfmade man with tremendous legal, financial and political skills. He is probably the only person in Australia or indeed the World with the overall capacity to unite this Liberal rabble into a cohesive effective opposition, despite the old saying that 'you can't make silk purses out of sows ears'. oink! oink!. GO MALCOLM.

  • THE PINK POODLE FROM WOOP WOOP SAYS: 05:58:01 PM Friday, 19th September, 2008

Maybe we should let Mr. Turnbull and the Liberals take over the government and save Australia from the present Economic Crisis, they created. After all, the Liberals spent over a decade in power, during which this crisis was brewing. That’s right. It took a decade to create this mess, and although the Australian people are at least 90% responsible for allowing the lucky country to fall into such a trap, the Liberal Government should take full responsibility for driving such a greed based climb to empty riches. Of course, kissing the arse of Mr. Bush certainly stimulated the economy when Australia emerged as a favoured country (it seems that going to war in Iraq and Afgansitan has its rewards), and was rewarded with cheap money. Who do you think started the inflationary housing boom in Australia. Well, the Money/Investment Houses from the USA of course. And of course, the Americans are now long gone, leaving the Aussies to clean up the mess. Inflated house prices and the emergence of the Aussie Day Trader (Stock Market Player) has done nothing but destroy the fabric of Australian society, which the world so respected. Now we, the quasi Ausamericans, are going to pay for our foolishness, and of course, the Liberals, under, Mr. Turnbull are going to go full steam ahead with arguments designed to brainwash everyone into believing that they were not responsible for any of the financial problems plaguing Australia. That they handed over a treasury full of Aussie bucks, and now after less than a year of Labour Management, the treasury, and the Australian household is about to go bust. How can anyone trust politicians so vain, so deceitful, they can just lie to everyone, without even a slightest sign of shame. Look at the present scenario on Wall Street: Year-to-date, Lehman Brothers is down 99%. American International Group is down 95%. Washington Mutual, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, down 94%, 98% and 99%, respectively. These are not sniggering little companies. These are giants. These are some of the very pillars of American, if not World finance. Throw in Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley and it’s very plain that the foundation of the Modern Thatcher/Reagan Economy is crumbling. What is going to happen in 2009 when the real sh*t hits the fan, and 300 or so small American Banks go bust because there are no big boys to borrow from. As far as the average Mrs. Jones and her pink poodle is concerned, the economy is so opaque, its time for new reading glasses. She never really understood anything anyway. She was just a follower, just like the other 99% of Australians. Really, lets all wake up and take a real look at what has happened over the past 15 years. Does anyone really want the Liberals in power. Not me. There again, is the Labour Party any better? Maybe what Australia needs is a journey back to the 1970s and a revitalised society, that calls a spade a spade. Maybe we should appoint Norman Gunston as the next Prime Minister. I’m very sure with his brilliance, he could do a better job than, Brendan, Malcolm, Kevin, or Little John.
